Volleyball has been a lifelong passion of mine. I began playing club volleyball in seventh grade and continued playing throughout high school in California. By the grace of God, I earned a volleyball scholarship to The Master’s College (now The Master’s University), where I played as a setter from 1999–2001. Those years taught me valuable lessons about hard work, perseverance, teamwork, commitment, and pursuing excellence.
After college, my love for the game continued through coaching. I coached at Burbank High School for two years and later spent one season as an assistant coach with Manassas Volleyball Club. Each coaching opportunity has strengthened my desire to teach volleyball, develop athletes, and invest in the lives of young women.
Today, I desire to coach with the perspective of both a former collegiate athlete and a parent. As a mother of nine children, with three married children and three wonderful children-in-law, I understand the commitment, sacrifices, and opportunities that come with club volleyball. I am also incredibly thankful for the love and support of my husband, who has encouraged and supported me through every season of life. My family has taught me the value of patience, teamwork, perseverance, and investing deeply in others.
My desire is to create a club environment where athletes are challenged to grow, compete, and pursue excellence while families feel supported throughout the journey. I believe athletes can develop their skills and compete at a high level without sacrificing the important priorities that shape their lives.
My coaching philosophy is centered on developing the whole athlete. Volleyball is an incredible tool for teaching perseverance, discipline, teamwork, humility, leadership, and resilience. Success is not measured only by wins and losses, but by the character athletes develop, the relationships they build, and the growth they experience along the way. My goal is to use volleyball as a platform to help young women grow not only as athletes, but also as teammates, leaders, and individuals who make a lasting impact.
As a pastor’s wife and Christ follower, I strive to lead with integrity, encourage each player individually, and create a positive culture where athletes are known, valued, and challenged to become the best version of themselves. My goal is to use volleyball as a platform to help young women grow not only as athletes, but also as teammates, leaders, and individuals who make a lasting impact.
Hey i’m coach Dryden!! Volleyball has been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started out playing middle school volleyball, and then went on to play four years of varsity volleyball in high school and then continued my career at the collegiate level, first at Richard Bland College and then at Millersville University after transferring the following year. I played collegiate volleyball as an outside hitter, but I have experience playing every position. Getting to play in different programs and with so many different teammates and coaches has taught me a lot about the game and has shaped the way I want to coach.
As a coach, I want to help players grow both on and off the court. Volleyball has taught me so much more than just how to play the game it’s taught me confidence, discipline, and how to be a great teammate! One of the biggest parts of my coaching philosophy is to embrace the ugly. Learning a new skill or changing an old habit isn’t always going to look good at first, and that’s okay! I want players to feel comfortable making mistakes, trying new things, and being coachable instead of being afraid to make mistakes. Sometimes you have to let it look a little ugly before you can make it better. Most importantly, I want to create a positive and competitive environment where players can have fun, work hard, build confidence, and become better volleyball players and people throughout the season!!
